secutex has a test laboratory with modern equipment for ongoing quality tests and also for the development of new materials:

1. Universal testing machine

The universal testing machine is a professional testing machine for performing tensile, compression and bending tests. With these tests, the universal testing machine can determine important material characteristics such as elongation at break, yield strength or tensile strength of the specimen.

2. Abrasion Tester

Purely mechanical abrasion is achieved by parallel sliding of two surfaces against each other; this is simulated in the standardized abrasion test. The polyurethane sample is subjected to real abrasion stress, and the time taken to destroy it allows conclusions about its abrasion resistance.

3. Weather Tester

The QUV weather tester reproduces the damage caused by sunlight, rain and dew. In a few days or weeks, the QUV UV Tester can reproduce damage caused during months or years of outdoor exposure. The QUV tests materials by exposing them to alternating cycles of UV light and moisture at controlled high temperatures. It simulates the effect of sunlight with special UV fluorescent lamps, the effect of dew and rain is simulated with condensing moisture and/or spray water.

4. Temperature Tester

Several material samples are inspected and heated in stages and then the condition is visually evaluated. In addition, the previously heated material samples can be tested in a tensile test, the results allow the material to be evaluated at the different temperatures.

5. Friction Coefficient Tester

secutex elastomers have excellent friction and therefore are very well suited for the use in transport racks.

The coefficient of friction is a very important factor in load securing, it must be proven and known. The value depends on the combination of the two friction partners and cannot be general. The logical consequence is that the coefficient of friction must be tested individually. For this purpose, secutex has a universal testing device, the evaluation is then done on the universal testing machine.

The coefficient of friction is the measure of how high the friction force between two materials is and is stated with the formula symbol “µ”. The friction force depends on many different factors. These would be for example material, temperature, humidity, surface, etc.

Abrasion and fabric protection

 

Foreign particles and liquids often penetrate easily into the textile fabric of the lashing belt. If the dirty lashing belt is put under stress, foreign particles and individual textile fibres break apart. Penetrating liquid reduces or even removes the payload capacity of the entire lashing belt. When considering the respective conditions for use, protecting the fabric is essential. “secutex Powerflex“ is an especially thin spray-on coating. Thanks to special manufacturing, “Powerflex” can penetrate deep into the fabric, coating the textile strands entirely. Foreign particles can no longer penetrate and are easy to remove from the surface of the band.

Double-sided coating “Powerflex” can be used everywhere where fabric protection and extreme abrasion protection are at the forefront and the high flexibility of the lashing belt should be retained. Because the lashing belt is completely coated, both sides can be used as the contact side. Dangerous mix-ups are now a thing of the past.

Our Powerflex coated lifting slings are often used on construction sites, in outdoor conditions and when wet and dirty water is present. Especially for these applications, now we have significantly improved our Powerflex thin coating. By changing the main components, we were able to reach a 2 – 3 times better lifetime in combination with wetness. We make this better performance clear by name with the Plus+ behind the well-known Powerflex name. And to make this improvement also visible, we have given the coating a new green color.

The very compact PowerflexPlus+ thin coating covers the lifting sling on one side or completely. It is extremely abrasion-resistant and ideal for very rough surfaces. The PowerflexPlus+ coating
also protects the fabric against dirt and the penetration of particles.

secutex-Prallschutz ohne Lochblecharmierung lässt sich hervorragend an den Einsatzbereich anpassen, z.B. als Formteil oder Plattenware. Das Material bietet höchste Elastizität und lässt sich einfach durch Kleben überall dort befestigen, wo Bohren oder Bieten nicht möglich ist.

 

Prallschutz mit Gewebeeinlage

Die Gewebeeinlage unterstützt die Stabilität ohne die Flexibilität von secutex-Prallschutz einzuschränken. Gleichzeitig verhindert das Gewebe eine Dehnung in Längs- oder Querrichtung weitgehend und bleibt auch bei „Scharfen Kanten“ formstabil. secutex-Prallschutz mit Gewebeeinlage kann nach Anweisung verklebt oder mit großflächigen Blechscheiben oder Flacheisen befestigt werden. Eine innenliegende Glasfaserverstärkung erhöht die Widerstandsfähigkeit noch weiter.

Eine Lochblecharmierung im secutex-Prallschutz verhindert die Längs- und Querdehnung des Materials. Über das Lochraster lassen sich außerdem Schrauben, Nieten oder Schweißpunkte flexibel setzen.

The prong-protection tubular module optimally protects sensitive, round loads. It is extremely wear-resistant, strong against slippage, and easy to exchange. The prong-protection tubular-module is easily pushed onto the existing mandrel and affixed with the end cap. The individual sections can rotate freely to accommodate any movement of the load and reduce wear.

The design offers optimal load and lifting-device protection in situations with limited space. The secutex resistant coating is inseparably connected to the fork prongs and the perforated plate prevents the fork prongs from detaching. A crossbeam on the tip of the fork prong prevents the secutex coating from detaching.
