The attachment chain may only be used as an attachment accessory without edge protection if a 20% reduction in load lifting capacity is taken into consideration or if the next-largest chain thickness is used. Otherwise, a secutex SK-K hinged edge-protector must be used.

Foreign particles and liquids often penetrate easily into the textile fabric of the lashing belt. If the dirty lashing belt is put under stress, foreign particles and individual textile fibres break apart. Penetrating liquid reduces or even removes the payload capacity of the entire lashing belt. When considering the respective conditions for use, protecting the fabric is essential. “secutex Powerflex“ is an especially thin spray-on coating. Thanks to special manufacturing, “Powerflex” can penetrate deep into the fabric, coating the textile strands entirely. Foreign particles can no longer penetrate and are easy to remove from the surface of the band.

Double-sided coating “Powerflex” can be used everywhere where fabric protection and extreme abrasion protection are at the forefront and the high flexibility of the lashing belt should be retained. Because the lashing belt is completely coated, both sides can be used as the contact side. Dangerous mix-ups are now a thing of the past.

While the stiffness of regular protective sleeves often makes lifting easier, it can be rather uncomfortable when handling smaller-sized loads. Small gaps and limited contact areas make handling the stiff protective sleeve more difficult in this situation. The secutex “veloxClip“ is made with a slit along the reverse side. This makes it very flexible in the bending direction. In the longitudinal direction, on the other hand, the protective sleeve keeps its valued properties and remains stiff. This makes it a very simple-to-use alternative when lifting loads with more limited contact areas. It is easy to insert through lower gaps and adapts flexibly to loads during lifting.

The wave structure increases the bending radius of “sharp edges”. The edge lies in a wave trough, while the load rests on the wave peak. Therefore, the “sharp edge“ has no contact with the protective sleeve. secuwave is delivered as a clip. This means that it can be subsequently added to a lifting situation. secuwave is available in two versions. The various sizes mean that the suitable wave size can be used. The smaller wave size means that the thick coating is more flexible in the bending direction. The larger wave structure is durable and is intended for larger edges. secuwave: wave profile prevents contact with the lifting strap.

This protective sleeve sits firmly on the lifting strap and therefore stays in its position when the lifting strap is in contact with the load. The contact side is coated with secutex which is extremely tear-resistant and reduces the formation of creases in the textile strap. The reverse side is coated with Powerflex and protected against abrasion and penetrating dirt.
The very flat form and resistance to bending in a longitudinal direction make it simple to insert the SFX-equipped strap into small gaps. The firm grip prevents unintentional slipping.

The protective secutex coating is firmly attached to a loop of the lifting strap.

The new patent-protected secumove coating combines the advantages of a protective sleeve and a sleeve with a fixed coating. The protective secutex coating is firmly attached to a loop of the lifting strap. The other end of the lifting strap slides freely through the sleeve and is used to equalise the lengths. secumove thereby ensures that there is no movement over “sharp edges”. No movement, no wear: when nothing moves, nothing becomes worn. The service life of the newly-developed secumove coating is therefore significantly increased, even when used with rough loads. secumove is optionally also available with proven metal plate reinforcement for “critically sharp edges“. For these heavy duty loads, we recommend specialist on-site advice. Important uses include, for example, the careful lifting of load-bearing trusses or sheet packages and coils. secumove is not suitable for turning.

To raise stacked coils

 

We recommend against turning stacked coils upright on the stack. The first choice for the raising of packages delivered in a horizontal position with split straps is therefore always a coil turning seat. However, there is not always a fixed installation for raising narrow coils. The secutex split-band turning strap has two different attachment ends. One end loop of the secutex lifting strap is flat, and can be easily threaded through the gap between the split bands. The flat end loop can then be easily hooked into the forged C-shackle. The protective sleeve is positioned against the “sharp edges“ of the coil. During lifting, the strap moves freely through the protective sleeve while the latter remains motionless against the load. There is no movement, and therefore no wearing against the “sharp edges“.

The solution

An end loop of secutex lifting slings for slit strips is flat and can easily be pushed into the gap between the slit strips. The flat end loop is then simply hung over the forged coil hook. The protective tubing is positioned at the sharp edges of the coil. During lifting the lifting sling moves freely within the protective tubing, while the latter remains fixed against the load. Therefore, there is no movement and at the sharp edges and hardly any wear.

The turning of stacked coils on the stack is liable to cause accidents, since the slit strip can slip over the bottom edge during erection. Therefore, as part of the kit you will always receive a slip resistant secutex turning mat which is simply placed under the tipping edge. A positive side-effect: the windings of the underlying coil are not damaged during the turning procedure.

If the coils are oily, the cardboard or felt absorbs the oil and must be disposed of as hazardous waste at great effort. secutex-base plates are quickly free from oil and dirt residues following a cleaning. The extreme tear and pressure resistance prevents the penetration of dirt particles on the surface even after strong and prolonged use. The base plate can be easily driven upon thanks to its bevelled circumference.

For particularly heavy loads, normal secutex protective sleeves can only be used for larger edge radii because the heavy-load round slings under load are up to 80 mm thick. According to the technical definition, this creates a “sharp edge“. Both the load-bearing round slings as well as the protective sleeve will be destroyed by the forces which occur here. The secuwave edge protector increases the load’s edge radius. The wave profile helps the edge protector adapt to the load. The cast-in perforated plate then permanently keeps the shape. The additional secutex protective sleeve reliably prevents the edge protector from moving through the heavy-load round sling.

The design offers optimal load and lifting-device protection in situations with limited space. The secutex resistant coating is inseparably connected to the fork prongs and the perforated plate prevents the fork prongs from detaching. During stamping, the elastomer becomes distorted; the inner edge is therefore not dimensionally stable and is at an angle. If the radius of an edge is „sharp“, the lifting forces occurring at the load‘s edges may significantly damage the structure of the textile load lifting accessory and, in the worst-case scenario, cut it.

The cutting motion of the load perpendicular to the lifting accessory is the cause of the damage. If the load moves laterally in the lifting strap, a cutting movement takes place at its edge. Much like the blade of a knife, the edge cuts through the fibres of the textile lifting accessory.

The secutex coating added to the textile protects the fibres in the contact area. The load can hook into the elastic secutex coating of the protective sleeve while the lifting strap moves freely through the protective sleeve. Cutting movements are then no longer possible.

At the same time, the coating increases the radius at the corners. The resulting lifting forces are distributed evenly. The edge is no longer „sharp“.

We offer two different types of fixed coating.

The secutex fixed coating protects the single sided secutex coating against cuts to the load-bearing textile.The reverse side is protected against abrasion and dirt by the Powerflex thin coating. The lifting straps with secutex fixed coatings are very flexible and easy-to-use.

The two-sided fixed coating provides all-round protection to the lifting strap, offering double security. This means that both sides can be used as contact sides. Dangerous mix-ups are now a thing of the past. When lifting long steel components, the user is helped by the good friction of the secutex coating. Even when subjected to a slight out-of-centre impact, the beams do not slip out of control. The lead can be brought safely to the ground and attached correctly.

The optional version with magnets means that the edge protectors are easy to place on magnetic loads. secutex-Techno is characterised by high hardness (70° Shore D) and rigidity over a wide temperature range.

In one piece

 

Worm screws, gear wheels, slide rails and other technical mouldings are today made of engineering plastics such as POM (polyoxymethylene), PA (polyamide) or PE (polyethylene). These materials with different property profiles (negative high water absorption with PA, poorer wear behaviour with PE) are supplied as sheets or rods. The required moulded parts are then produced by mechanical processing (turning, milling etc.) in a more or less complex manner. Effective injection moulding is only worthwhile for large quantities together with small component sizes, otherwise the high tool costs cannot be amortized.

secutex-Techno is characterised by high hardness (70° Shore D) and rigidity over a wide temperature range. It retains its high toughness down to -30 °C, has a high abrasion resistance and a low coefficient of friction.

The intrinsic colour is yellow, making it well suited for technical applications. Mechanical processing is simple and comparable with other hard plastics.

With secutex-Techno, the required moulded parts can be produced simply and inexpensively in simple casting moulds, eliminating the need for time-consuming machining. Mounting holes can be
The delivered components can therefore be mounted directly. The secutex-Techno material can be specifically cast into secutex moulds according to customer drawings. Customers can also order secutex-Techno in short lengths for further processing and are therefore not dependent on the usual dimensions of sheet material.

Smooth

This surface is used for secutex – buffer pad applications where there is no water or oil between the load and the buffer pad. When dry, the smooth surface is slip-resistant.

Ground

The surface is slightly roughened. It is used where the buffer pad only comes into contact with fluids. The rough surface remains slip-resistant.

Fabric

In the case of fabric, the surface of the buffer pad is very rough. This is important if it continuously comes into contact with oil and water. The high degree of roughness ensures a durable non-slip finish.

Pyramids

Buffer pad with this surface is used predominantly for anti-slip protection on flooring.

What is required on public roads cannot be wrong in factory traffic! If the forklift is driven on public roads without load, then the use of a warning bar is prescribed according to StVZO.

The secutex warning bar is attached onto the two prong tips and simply secured against the forklift’s shield with the permanently mounted lashing straps. The warning colour yellow and the black warning crosshatching make the bar very visible. And should something be bumped; the elastic secutex material distributes the impact over a wide area and thus avoids possible damage.

In the production of pipes and bright steel so-called funnels are used for threading in the production plants. In most cases funnels made of polyamide are used, but due to the material hardness and the sharp-edged pipe ends wear out very quickly.

As an alternative, secutex offers polyurethane funnels for this purpose. In contrast to polyamide, these are softer from the material and therefore also more wear-resistant than sharp-edged pipe ends. Machine elements and casted parts must be turned frequently during the manufacturing process and for shipping. The components are getting bigger and bigger and the demands on quality and time are getting higher and higher. Expensive cranes are often blocked for hours for the challenging turning operations and a large part of the production areas cannot be used during this time.

SpanSet-secutex coatings for lifting slings and protective sleeves are used daily for lifting and moving sharp-edged loads.

For the safe and economical turning of heavy and difficult loads, secutex has now developed the turning slings with the new secuWave coating (patent pending). The unique feature of the secutex turning slings is the new wave profile.

It combines the well-known advantages of secutex coatings – excellent cut resistance and flexibility as well as a very high wear and abrasion resistance – with the additional advantages from the optimized design, which is extremely effective when lifting and turning sharp-edged loads.

The secutex turning sling is soft and flexible to the load and increases the radius at the critical sharp edges. The lifting forces are distributed over a wide area and the load is handled gently. Because of the new wave profile, the sharp edge has no contact with the textile lifting sling – so damages are nearly impossible. The wave profile also makes sure that the coating is “stuck” to the edge. The secutex turning slings ensure that the torque is transferred to the load and the load itself is protected. It is no longer possible for the load to slip through.

When equipped with the secuwave lifting strap, the teeth of the coating fit into the geared turning rollers of the turning spreader. In this way, there is no more slippage on the winding rollers of the turning spreader.

Option: secutex turning slings equipped with C-hook with quick-release latch (up to 5t load capacity) or the turning belt connecting brackets with quick-release fastener (up to 20t load capacity).

secutex protective sleeves in combination with Spanset lifting slings are always the best choice for lifting machinery elements and other loads. Because of the design, the lifting slings are wide, the load is distributed over a relatively large area. But sometimes secutex protective sleeves are also required for wire ropes. The wire ropes have an almost round diameter, the surface area to the load is rather small and the stress per area is high. In general, the use of wire rope sleeves can only be recommended for the lifting of large, round loads, i.e. without sharp or angular edges.

There are slotted and also unslotted secutex wire rope protective sleeves available for one or two strands. The slotted variants can easily be assembled afterwards, the closed types, on the other hand, have to be installed during the manufacture of the wire ropes. Please note that the wire ropes often have a larger diameter than the nominal size, here the secutex protective sleeve should be chosen one size larger.

In principle, the secutex wire rope protective sleeves consist of the very cut and wear-resistant secutex elastomer and an internal fabric reinforcement. The protective sleeves are easy to move and so perfect for hand protection.

secutex has a test laboratory with modern equipment for ongoing quality tests and also for the development of new materials:

1. Universal testing machine

The universal testing machine is a professional testing machine for performing tensile, compression and bending tests. With these tests, the universal testing machine can determine important material characteristics such as elongation at break, yield strength or tensile strength of the specimen.

2. Abrasion Tester

Purely mechanical abrasion is achieved by parallel sliding of two surfaces against each other; this is simulated in the standardized abrasion test. The polyurethane sample is subjected to real abrasion stress, and the time taken to destroy it allows conclusions about its abrasion resistance.

3. Weather Tester

The QUV weather tester reproduces the damage caused by sunlight, rain and dew. In a few days or weeks, the QUV UV Tester can reproduce damage caused during months or years of outdoor exposure. The QUV tests materials by exposing them to alternating cycles of UV light and moisture at controlled high temperatures. It simulates the effect of sunlight with special UV fluorescent lamps, the effect of dew and rain is simulated with condensing moisture and/or spray water.

4. Temperature Tester

Several material samples are inspected and heated in stages and then the condition is visually evaluated. In addition, the previously heated material samples can be tested in a tensile test, the results allow the material to be evaluated at the different temperatures.

5. Friction Coefficient Tester

secutex elastomers have excellent friction and therefore are very well suited for the use in transport racks.

The coefficient of friction is a very important factor in load securing, it must be proven and known. The value depends on the combination of the two friction partners and cannot be general. The logical consequence is that the coefficient of friction must be tested individually. For this purpose, secutex has a universal testing device, the evaluation is then done on the universal testing machine.

The coefficient of friction is the measure of how high the friction force between two materials is and is stated with the formula symbol “µ”. The friction force depends on many different factors. These would be for example material, temperature, humidity, surface, etc.

secutex PU materials have excellent abrasion resistance and are therefore well qualified for the use in rough areas (steel industry, concrete etc.). The abrasion is caused by mechanical stress, for example friction, and usually produces very small particles (dust).

In this test, the polyurethane sample is subjected to real abrasion stress, and the time taken until destruction allows conclusions to be drawn about its abrasion resistance.

Most of the damages at sharp or rough edges are caused by the movement of the load across the sling. If the load moves sideways, a cutting movement on the edge is the result. Similar to a knife blade, the edge can cut through the fibers of the textile sling.

The new “TopDrain” surface drainage provides good adhesion of the protective sleeves and the coated lifting slings even on wet and oily materials. The liquid can drain off into the surface hollows and the load lies securely in the lifting sling. The “TopDrain” structure works like a drainage and ensures the frictional connection of the secutex coating to the load.

Both the secutex protective sleeves and the secutex permanent coating can be equipped with a “TopDrain” structural surface. Simply add the suffix “TD” for TopDrain to the order number of the product you would like to order.

The modular coil storage system (patent pending) is designed for flexible use as a coil mat or, in combination with the side tubes, for the permanent storage of coils and slit steel steel. secuGrip laminates are our new, self-adhesive anti-slip laminates that you can apply yourself.

The up to 2 mm thick secuGrip coatings have a high coefficient of friction and are extremely abrasion-resistant. Installation is as easy:

the back is coated with acrylate adhesive and holds on many different surfaces.

The acrylate adhesive itself:

  • has a high bonding strength
  • is temperature and weather resistant
  • is insensitive to moisture
  • provides for a tension equalization

The coated wooden beams do not absorb oil or water and, due to their officially proven anti-slip properties, are perfectly suited as a load securing aid. The wooden beams become considerably more robust thanks to the secuGrip coating, and our customers praise the drastically improved service life, even in tough transport applications.

Directly sprayed surfaces can be produced seamlessly and without joints; these surfaces permanently seal the substrate against water and air. The secuGrip coating can also be sprayed directly onto hooks and other constructions.

The secutex scraper is made of robust polyurethane and offers high wear resistance. The stability and flexibility can be optimised by additionally cast in fabric or thicker material thickness.

The material is insensitive to most everyday oils and environmental influences.

The scraping bar for road rollers, scrapes coarse dirt and stones from the roller to achieve an even rolling pattern without marks.

This product can be produced in any size and for any make and is bolted together.
