The company SpanSet - secutex Sicherheitstechnik GmbH was founded by Heinz Franke and SpanSet in Übach-Palenberg in 1982. Heinz Franke had developed the cut-resistant lifting sling coating under the brand name secutex-“Sicheres Textil” (Secure textile) and SpanSet was the world leader in the market for lifting slings and lashing straps. With the production of coated lifting slings and protective hoses,, later then also of profiles and shaped parts made of PUR, the company rapidly gained a good reputation and a high market share.
In 1995 Boris Franke, the son of the founder of the company, joined the management of the company. At that time there were around 25 employees, a figure that rapidly increased to the figure of more than 64 as of today.
In 1995 the company took over 60% of the shares of AXZION GKS Stahl+Maschinenbau GmbH, Langenfeld and extended the range of products to include those used to take up or hold weights.

Markets and market growth

The company SpanSet - secutex GmbH directly markets “secutex-Prallschutz” (“Impact protection”) in Germany and via the worldwide network of SpanSet branches. The field of secutex impact protection will also grow continue to markedly through new developments. In the medium term we plan to tap the potential in the Far East and in North America by setting up smaller production facilities there.
